Snow Storms &

Ice Forms

In the Adirondacks before climate change was noticed,

winter meant snow. and lots of it!

Snow storms came with regularity and most of us owned snow mobiles that I thought universally were called “skidoo’s”.

My dad graduated from a snow blower to a snow plow for his truck that I helped him put on in the winter and take off in late spring.

We all had toboggans or sleds or flying saucers or an assortment of such

snow suits and snow boots

We went ice fishing in shanties on Lake Champlain.

Snowshoe hares , Grey & Red fox, Black bears were always a precious sight to behold

and the Chickadee, (my moms favorite little woodland fairy) would find a branch close to you and try and chat you up.

Below are several of my creations, meant to be whimsical and warm you to the thoughts of winter.

Serving plates and bowls hand built and designed with rustic dark clay and hand painted then fired in an electric kiln.

My photographs of snow and ice the past few years both are reminiscent of winters long ago.
